My name is Douglas Papworth. I was born in London. My wife is Brazilian. Having taught English in London and Brazil for 16 years I've gained substantial experience working with students from the widest variety of backgrounds. This has taught me the value of a flexible approach, which starts from where the student is at and is taught in a lexical approach to learning. I was trained in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) to pass the Test of English for International Communicatin (TOEIC) and acquired the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) qualification. My core teaching resource has its high quality accredited by the British Council and is published by the Oxford University Press. Supplementary material includes classic English comedy, films, London entertainment, sports magazines, periodics, and pronunciation tuition cd's. My guiding principle is to keep the work student-centred and fun. |
